My proposal story

Callum proposed on a jetty over Lake Geneva Wisconsin. We had been in Chicago for a friends wedding the week before and hed carried the ring around the whole time safely hidden in a pair of socks. I was sat by the lake admiring the view and turned around to see Callum with two glasses of bubbly, he got down on one knee and I said yes!

Wedding style

We got married in a vineyard in Shrewsbury called Hencote. We had a wine tasting booked a few weeks after Callum proposed. After a few vinos we imagined the wedding we could have at Hencote and booked our wedding for the following year.

Shopping experience

I went with no big expectation to find a dress, I dont think wed even booked the venue yet! But the very first dress I put on felt so perfect I had to say yes. Im so glad I did because once I had the dress everything else fell into place. I think its a great place to start because then you can make decisions about wedding style, florals etc.

How did you choose 'The One'?

Id always had an idea of what I might like but wanted to try on different styles, I was worried in case I didnt suit the dresses Id seen online. Id seen the dress on Emma Louise Bridals Instagram and as soon as I put it on I knew it was the one.

Tell us about your experience at Emma Louise Bridal

The girls were so helpful, even though I was in love with the very first dress we tried other styles and similar dresses just to make sure. There was no pressure and the appointment was super relaxed and friendly. I really appreciated the suggestions and guidance I received, it was so helpful in making me feel confident to make the right decision.

What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?

Our first dance, it was so lovely when everyone joined us on the dance floor! The dance floor was jam packed all night long.

If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?

We did a mini-moon in Portugal straight after the wedding. Were just in the middle of planning a honeymoon for next year, likely Barbados then St Vincent & The Grenadines.

Do you have any advise for other couples planning their wedding?

Make sure your personalities shine through and always put your guests first. Theres nothing more lovely than hearing what a good time everyone had at your wedding, especially when you spend so much time planning your big day.
