My proposal story
My partner Phil proposed during the COVID lock down at 7am on Christmas day. We had woken up super early and it was really cold and icy, he suggested we go for a walk to a pond where I used to go as a child. He proposed in front of the pond.
Wedding style
We wanted a summer wedding and picked a date that avoided family birthdays in June. We got married at Bartle Hall which was just the most beautiful venue, from the Thicket Lodge the night before to the bridal suite after the wedding, all parts were perfect and the grounds are just stunning. We wanted a really relaxed non-formal wedding and thats exactly what we got.
Shopping experience
Shopping for my wedding dress was a little more difficult as I was pregnant at the time so terrified that anything I bought wouldnt fit postpartum. I tried on so many stunning dresses and quickly narrowed down the style I liked (a-line).
How did you choose 'The One'?
It was simply beautiful. It had everything I was looking for and I felt so beautiful in it.
Tell us about your experience at Emma Louise Bridal
Emma Louise Bridal made choosing my dress so easy. I tried on loads of dresses with more being pulled out to try on based on what I was choosing. Being pregnant I was able to come back and recheck the size I had ordered and I was able to try my dress on once it arrived at a much later date so that I could properly get a feel for the size on my body. When coming back to try my dress on, Hattie helped so much as I had a baby in tow and had come alone. She was so helpful with the pram as well as bringing the dress out to my car.
What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?
My favourite memories are just before the doors opened and I walked down the aisle standing with my dad, then when the doors opened and I could see everyone smiling. Also the confetti shots and just seeing how happy everyone was.
If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?
We are off to Mexico in November with the little one in tow!
Do you have any advise for other couples planning their wedding?
Relax, enjoy it and have fun. I can honestly say I dont think theres any pictures of me not smiling.
