My proposal story
We got engaged in January 2019 in NYC. Jacks original idea was to propose on the proposal bridge in Central Park, however when we got to the bridge another couple had just got engaged there, there were SO many people around them and my words exactly were Its cute but Id absolutely hate that!. The fact there were so many people around them just wasnt for me so he had no choice but to do it in our hotel room just before we went out for a really nice meal which was absolutely perfect for me!
Wedding style
We always said we would have an autumn/winter wedding, they are our favourite seasons and we think it suited our venue very well!We chose Holmes Mill as our wedding venue because we loved how rustic and quirky it was. As soon as we walked into the Beer Hall we looked at each other and said this is definitely the one for us!
Shopping experience
It was definitely my favourite part of wedding planning, however it was a bit stressful. After the first shop I went in and tried on 12 dresses, I thought am I really going to find The One but eventually I did and I loved it!
How did you choose 'The One'?
I knew the style of dress I wanted, it had to be fitted and backless. At first I thought Id want one with lace but they just didnt suit me and then I went for ones that were very plain but I just needed a bit of detail. The back of the Peru Dando London dress sold it for me, I absolutely loved it and the cape that comes with it is so unusual compared to a normal vale and I always said I didnt want a vale so the cape was perfect!!
Tell us about your experience at Emma Louise Bridal
Shopping for my wedding dress at Emma Louise Bridal was amazing! The shop is just incredible. Amber was so helpful! She puts no pressure on you and literally lets you do your own thing when picking out dresses and would throw in a bit of advice when needed. It was fun, exciting and very emotional!
What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?
Two of my favourite memories was when my husband and my dad saw me in my dress for the first time.
If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?
We are going on our honeymoon to Jamaica in February, and we cant wait!
Do you have any advise for other couples planning their wedding?
Dont stress the small things as it wont all go to plan. Get a photographer that doesnt make you take so much time out of your day for your pictures as your day goes so fast. We did our speeches before our meal and a lot of guests said they preferred it, as it worked better compared to other weddings theyve been to. It meant those who were doing the speeches could enjoy the day quicker and not be nervous throughout the whole meal and werent too drunk to do the speech!
