Rayhan - An Unforgettable Day at Peak Edge Hotel!

6th October 2023

My proposal story

It was at my baby shower April 2021. I was so emotional leading up to the day as we were just about to come out of one of the covid lockdowns and I wasnt sure if Id be able to have an in person baby shower at all! Luckily for me I was able to have my closest friends and family in the garden (with the rest of my friend and family joining via zoom). Once the main bit of the baby shower was over, my partner Lee arrived and he and my best friend had said they had prepared a slideshow for me. The slideshow was full of pictures all through my life, followed by a video of my partner and his best friend singing Greatest Day by Take That, and then a video message from Lee saying how proud he was of me and how he couldnt wait for our next chapter and that he had a present for me. He then told me in person to go and open the box that was placed on the patio in-front of me, when I opened the box a balloon saying Will you marry me? Popped out! Safe to say when I turned around and saw him on one knee I was crying so many happy tears I couldnt even see what the ring looked like!

Wedding style

We got married at Peak Edge Hotel in Chesterfield on 27th May 2023. All we wanted was for the wedding to be as relaxed as possible for the guests and we just really wanted everyone to have the best time!
The theme was neutrals so beiges/champagnes with some sage green and foliage thrown in for the decor and centrepieces.
I had always dreamt of having an outdoor ceremony and the weather was so beautiful on the day this was able to happen!

Shopping experience

It was amazing! Its one of those experiences that I just want to bottle up those feelings I felt and kept them forever! I was nervous beforehand dont get me wrong, I had not long since had a baby and my body shape had changed a lot and I wasnt feeling all that confident but as soon as I walked in the boutique all the nerves were replaced with pure excitement! I knew that after finding Emma Louise Bridal online that if I couldnt find a dress there I would really struggle to find a dress anywhere else! Luckily for me I only had to go to the one shop to find the perfect dress!

How did you choose 'The One'?

I wanted to try on a number of different styles of dresses as I was so unsure what I really wanted after trying on a handful of different dresses, most of which I did like, when I then tried on the dress I said yes too it just felt different! I felt amazing in it and it ticked everything single box that I could have wished for in any wedding dress! At that point there was no going back to any of the others!

Tell us about your experience at Emma Louise Bridal

From start to finish it was an amazing experience. My bridal consultant was lovely and she allowed me to try on the different styles I had asked to, and then listened to my thoughts and feelings as I was trying these on to then pull dresses that she thought I would like! The boutique is stunning and the whole experience was so relaxed, even when it came to coming back for my styling appointment.

What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?

Can I say EVERYTHING?! If I had to chose it would be two moments.
The first one being my almost 2 year old son walking me down the aisle as the best man sang the most beautiful song Best Part of Me by Ed Sheeran. Anyone that has children knows how unpredictable toddlers and be and if they dont want to do something they wont do it, but Cooper was amazing and walked down with me holding my hand the whole way he the stood with me and his daddy the whole time we were saying our vows but without saying a word (just looked at us very confused ha!)
The other part would be our first dance and then the second dance to follow. We did a slow first dance to Why I Love You by Major, and then the second song we chose was Cant Take My Eyes off You by Frankie Valli. It went from nice, slow and romantic to everyone up on the dance floor, the most amazing sax player playing along, glow sticks in and everyone just seeming to have so much fun!

If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?

We have been on a familymoon with our little boy to a beautiful hotel in Crete and we will shortly be going on a little mini honeymoon just the two of us, a nice long weekend to the Amalfi Coast!

Do you have any advise for other couples planning their wedding?

Really and truly, all the small details that you are stressing about during the planning really wont matter on the day! That goes for if you have any guest list issues too. Dont worry about who is coming / who isnt coming, at the end of the day just see it that whoever is there is there to celebrate the two of you and thats all that matters! And really try to enjoy all the planning. It is stressful and it does take up a lot of time and energy, but once it is all done you will miss it all so soak it all up and enjoy it!
