Nicola - a music themed day at The Fisherman's Retreat
24th February 2023
My proposal story
Steve had been acting weird for a couple of days, so I knew something was up. We took the dog to Sale Water Park for a walk. We walked to the waters edge, and standing on a jetty, Steve got down on one knee.
Wedding style
Date: 3rd September
Venue: The Fishermans Retreat
Theme: We had a music theme running throughout the day, from the church, tables named after composers, to karaoke in the evening.
We also had a gardening theme. The venue was dressed rustically with watering cans as centre pieces.
Shopping experience
It was really enjoyable. I had picked 3 shops to visit and only visited 2. The first one helped me realise what I wanted and Emma Louise Bridal had the dress!
How did you choose 'The One'?
I had made a list from the website, but after visiting the first shop I knew what I wanted in a dress, so didnt use it.
As I was getting ready to go because I hadnt found the dress, I happened to mention my list. My wedding dress was the first one on the list!
Tell us about your experience at Emma Louise Bridal
From the glass of prosecco when you first visit, to picking up the wedding dress to take home, you feel in safe hands.
What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?
I couldnt pick anything specifically, the whole day was fabulous.
If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?
We had booked Sorrento, but had to cancel it due to ill health. Hopefully, we will do it next year, but we have booked a long weekend in London to watch the Phantom of the Opera.
Do you have any advise for other couples planning their wedding?
If you are unsure about anything make sure you ask.
Always trust your gut instinct.
