My proposal story

It was in 2019, in October on my birthday and it was the first year living together. My partner Conor cooked me a fry up for breakfast then after we had finished eating he got down on one knee. We had a long engagement as we were saving up for the perfect wedding.

Wedding style

We didnt have much of a theme, I wanted it to be pretty and floral with pink and white roses. We had a very traditional wedding at Mitton Hall. The wedding date was 27th August 2023

Shopping experience

I really enjoyed the whole wedding dress shopping experience. I went to two shops looking for my dress and found the perfect one at the last shop (Emma Louise). I tried on a range of different styles even though I knew which style would suit me and that was the dress I chose. I brought my mum and auntie to all my meetings which helped me with my decision making as I liked a lot of the dresses.

How did you choose 'The One'?

Once I had chose the style, I was choosing from two dresses which were both really nice and could have walked away with either of the dresses. But I chose small details which I liked more for example the beading on the back of my dress stood out to me more than the lace on the other dress.

Tell us about your experience at Emma Louise Bridal

My experience at Emma Louise Bridal really helped with my decision making as I had seen a dress at another shop which was out of my price range by a lot which I thought was the one. Until I looked at Emma Louise bridal. Kate really helped as I was asked which designer and style I liked before hand and dresses were chosen for me to try on based on this. This made my experience as I felt like I had a input where as the other shop I went to didnt. I ended up walking away with Aurora by Stella York, I have had my eyes on Stella York dresses ever since I started looking. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was really informative.

What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?

Walking down the aile and seeing my partners reaction to my dress. Also my first dance which I had Mike Dignam performing with Six15

If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?

We went on a 7 day cruise round the Mediterranean with Tui which was amazing, were already planning the next cruise

Do you have any advise for other couples planning their wedding?

Try and not get too stressed out when things dont work out, as we did but things worked themselves out on the wedding day. Also good planning and booking things early.
