My proposal story

Graeme had planned to propose whilst we were on holiday abroad but covid hit. On my 30th birthday, Graeme put fairy lights up in the garden, got a photo book with lots of memories of of our story so far, and on the back of the book it said with the love for each other so strong why not complete the book with a fairytale ending which is when Graeme got down on one knee.

Wedding style

Our wedding took place on 4th November 2023 at Gretna Hall Hotel, Gretna Green. Our theme was navy blue and yellow, with the flowers being sunflowers.

Shopping experience

I was so unsure of what I wanted but the ladies at Emma Louise Bridal relaxed me so much and made the experience amazing!

How did you choose 'The One'?

My dress was the first one I tried at Emma Louise, I tried many others on but just knew this was the one. There was no tears (from me) but I felt amazing in it!

What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?

After having my hair and makeup done I got in my dress with the help of my bridesmaid, once I got it on my friends in the room and the makeup artist who had never met me before were all in awe of my dress and I really did feel like a princess for the day. My children hadnt seen my dress and when my eldest daughter came in the room to see it she burst in to tears and was uncontrollably sobbing. My youngest daughter who is 3 also said Mummy is a princess. We really did have the most perfect day, it was so relaxed because of all the planning I had done but I wouldnt change a second of it.

If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?

We went to a lake side cottage in the Lake District for 4 nights, which when you have 4 children, spending time just the 2 of us was everything!

Do you have any advise for other couples planning their wedding?

Plan, plan, plan even if you dont think it needs planning, plan it!! My hair and makeup artists commented on how relaxed the room was and how relaxed I was and I genuinely believe that was because I planned every last detail. Also for the brides, buy the dress!!! The dress that makes you feel like a princess, buy it!
