My proposal story

We went on a city break to Bruges, where we went for a lovely three course meal and then we had a drink outside which is where Andy proposed. The restaurant brought out a dessert with will you marry me in chocolate and two glasses of Moët.

Wedding style

We didnt have a theme for our wedding and unfortunately it took a while to eventually get to our wedding day due to Covid-19. It was originally supposed to be on the 18th April 2020, then postponed to February 2021, and eventually we were married on 9th April 2022! We had a colour scheme of light pink, light grey and light blue suits with lovely blossom trees for our centre pieces at the wedding venue.

Shopping experience

I only visited two wedding boutiques and Emma Louise being one of them. I tried on approximately 8 different dresses while at Emma Louise, some which I would never dreamt of trying on. The first dress I picked I said was the one, and I tried it on first and knew instantly it was right for me. I tried on all the others and then went back to the first one.

How did you choose 'The One'?

I have always know what style of dress I wanted from being very young. I pictured a sweetheart neckline, with no straps, fitted at the top and then a big skirt, not a long train, little sparkle and no veil. Exactly what I picked!

Tell us about your experience at Emma Louise Bridal

It was a wonderful experience at Emma Louise, it was Amber who I first saw back in 2019, she was so lovely and her knowledge was outstanding. She made me and everyone feel so relaxed and welcome. I would highly recommend the Emma Louise boutique to anyone who is looking to buy their wedding dress.

What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?

I enjoyed the day from start to finish. When people tell you its the best day of your life, it really is! And they also say its the quickest day which totally true!

If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?

We went on a minimoon to Amsterdam a couple of days after the wedding for 3 nights, and we have a family holiday booked to Benalmadena in August. Originally back in summer 2020 we had a cruise booked for the Greek Islands, but we had to cancel due to covid and also having a baby during lockdown!

Do you have any advise for other couples planning their wedding?

Be as relaxed as possible, dont stress over anything. Dont worry about trying to please everyone, its your special day and its all about you and your husband to be.
