My proposal story

We booked a week away in Edinburgh for my birthday in 2022. It was a total surprise when he told us we were just going up Calton Hill for a walk and the views then he popped the question. Never knew he had it in him.

Wedding style

We booked Sparth House for the gorgeous architecture, beautiful grounds and exceptional team that assisted in making our dream of a small intimate wedding a reality. Small number of guests, minimal fuss, no evening do, no speeches, no first dance. Just a chance to have families together and enjoy everyones company.

Shopping experience

Shopping for the dress I was daunted maybe even terrified. I never thought we would ever get married and there I was looking at dresses. But the team at Emma Louise couldnt do enough to help and I felt totally relaxed and at ease. I brought my Mum, MiL, best friend and our baby son with me and they were so accommodating

How did you choose 'The One'?

I had spied the one online. And it felt so so right trying it on. Tried some more after but I kept yearning to get the one back on. I knew it was right after Id purchased and got home and just wanted to get it on again.

What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?

The simplicity. Marrying my best friend surrounded by our nearest and dearest. The intimacy and relaxed vibe that we wanted came through and it was perfect.

If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?

Looking at a minimoon while we get passports sorted. Possibly back to Edinburgh.

Do you have any advise for other couples planning their wedding?

Do what YOU want. Dont listen to convention. If you want it small, do it. If you dont like the attention that weddings bring thats fine. So long as you two are happy and enjoying it, does it really matter what others think.
