Josie - A beautiful, rustic wedding at Eden Barn!
24th August 2023
My proposal story
We were at home dancing around the kitchen to our favourite tunes with our two dogs, and he got down on one knee. Very unexpected, simple and romantic!
Wedding style
Our venue was beautiful and rustic, with just the right amount of decoration so we could keep things nice and simple. Our theme and decor was rustic and natural with sunflowers to add some colour. I made a lot of the stuff myself, including favours, invitations, welcome sign and seating plan, name place settings, centrepieces you name it! My mum also made the cake, which I decorated, and my dad made the gorgeous wooden board for it to sit on. It was all really personal.
Shopping experience
Really relaxed and actually quite fun! Im not a big shopper and didnt really know what to expect but Amber was so lovely, helpful and patient. I ended up trying on about 8 dresses, but chose the first one I tried on. It was nice to just have my mum with me as there werent too many people with opinions, and she knows me so well. The little glass of prosecco was very welcome too!
How did you choose 'The One'?
I already had an idea of what I liked, having searched a lot online beforehand, so Amber helped me pick out a few in that style. I tried on different styles too just to make sure, but narrowed it down to two. The one I chose just had a bit more sparkle and was comfy.
Tell us about your experience at Emma Louise Bridal
I had a really positive experience from start to finish. Booking online was really easy and everyone I dealt with either in person or over the phone was really nice and friendly. It was lovely to see the same person for both my appointments as it made the experience really familiar and consistent. I never felt rushed with any decisions and was put at ease straight away and throughout.
What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?
Food! Our caterers were incredible and the food was amazing. We were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day so just being outside with all our guests having a lovely time. Saying our vows and finally reaching that moment wed been planning and building up for was really overwhelming and emotional but one of the best moments.
If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?
As we didnt get married near home, we stayed for the week after the wedding in the gorgeous Eden Valley. Were saving up for a cruise through the Norwegian fjords next year.
Do you have any advise for other couples planning their wedding?
Do you! Try not to be overwhelmed by the amount of choice out there go with what you want and your own gut. Remember its your day. Plan early so you can enjoy the run up in the last few months before the big day.
