My proposal story

It was Valentines Day and I told Tom to never propose to me on a day Id expect so I never expected him to propose on Valentines Day!! It was very unexpected. I was making toast and a coffee for us both in the morning, I turned around and hes down on one knee. It was perfect!

Wedding style

We got married at The Venue, Bowers Mill, Halifax on Sunday 15th October 2023. We decide on an Autumn themed wedding lots of burnt orange, burgundy, greens with pumpkins and lots of candles. We hired Emily K Weddings to create the most wonderful setting and that it was. It was perfect

Shopping experience

I had the most wonderful shopping experience for my wedding dress at Emma Louise Bridal. Hattie my Bridal Stylist made us feel so welcome. She listened to what I liked, gave me ideas and brought out some amazing dresses, it was all so exciting!

How did you choose 'The One'?

The first dress I tried on was Ava, which is my daughters name. I fell in love immediately with it and so did my bridesmaids. I think I tried another 7 dresses on but that was the one
Initially I didnt intend to buy on the day only to try on and get a feel for what suited me but that was the dress it was perfect.

Tell us about your experience at Emma Louise Bridal

From start to finish it was a magical experience. The setting itself, the colour scheme, how youre surrounded by 100s of beautiful dresses just made the whole experience a day I will never forget. I lost my dad a month before trying my dress on so it was a very emotional time for me. My dad bought my dress and when I put it on for the 2nd time, myself and my bridesmaids cried. Hattie took a step back and gave us time to have that moment

What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?

Everything from getting ready with all my 15 bridesmaid including my 6 daughters to surprising them all with a hummer limo to walking down the aisle to Forest Gumps first song and meeting Tom at the arch. Our speeches were amazing and I surprised everyone and sang Dont Look Back in Anger by Oasis. Everyone joined in, it was epic!
The food, the layout, the smooth running of the day, the fantastic photographers we had, the people, everyone had the best time.

If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?

We went to Antalya in Turkey for a week of relaxation with our daughters. It was wonderful

Do you have any advise for other couples planning their wedding?

Make it personal to you. Pay off a little bit every month.
If you can afford to get a wedding coordinator get one, it made things stress free!!!
Do your research, dont buy the first thing you like because there will always be something else that catches your eye.
Embrace every second, its over in a flash!
