My proposal story
Nathan proposed on my 25th birthday at Wray Castle in the Lake District after a beautiful walk through the forest. A rainbow appeared behind us straight after. We say it was a sign of our loved ones being there.
Wedding style
We wanted a romantic, classic and simple style. Our venue (West Tower) which was perfect for that.
Shopping experience
I remember being so nervous about shopping for my dress. I booked Emma Louise Bridal because of the designers they stocked and the reviews they had. As soon as I arrived at the boutique, the nerves left and I instantly felt so at ease and excited.
How did you choose 'The One'?
I had seen a few dresses on Emma Louises website and saved the names in my phone. I also asked my bridal party to each pick a dress for me to try. I had three dresses that I absolutely loved on the website. They were all very different in style.
Tell us about your experience at Emma Louise Bridal
When I arrived I was greeted so warmly. The boutique was beautiful and nerves turn to excitement immediately. I gave my list of dresses to Kate and as she gathered all the dresses we had a look through the rails.
I fell for the first dress I put on. She was beautiful. We tried on many, many more but I kept going back to the first dress. In the end I chose the first dress I tried on which was in my top three from the website. Saying yes was a special moment and every single second of the appointment felt magical.
My perfect dress was the first one I tried on, in the first shop I visited. Perfect!
What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?
I loved every single second of our wedding day and I wouldnt have changed a single thing.
Precious memories from the day include my bridesmaid dress reveal, my father dress reveal, walking down the aisle, greeting out guest after the ceremony, the speeches the list goes on and on.
I remember feeling so happy and confident as everyone congratulated us after the ceremony. Everyone commented on my dress and still now I have comments about how beautiful it was.
If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?
We travelled to Sandals in Jamaica, Ochi Rios for our honeymoon. It was incredible! Memories we will hold on to forever. I already cannot wait to return!
Do you have any advise for other couples planning their wedding?
My advice for other couples would be to enjoy every second of planning your wedding! Many people say all that money on one day, but I dont believe that to be true. Your wedding day isnt just one day; its all the appointments, planning, meals, meet ups, Instagram pages, Pinterest accounts, magazines, events, phone calls, emails, dates, organising, ordering etc.
I remember someone saying to us dont worry if things go wrong because no one else will know because only you two have planned it. Luckily for us, nothing went wrong. Everything was more than perfect it really was!
