Caroline - A Rustic Wedding at The Outbarn!
14th July 2023
My proposal story
It was November 2021 and we were on holiday in Yorkshire and went for a walk around the Ribble Head viaduct, it was covered in snow so we were playing around in the snow like you do and my shoe got full of it so I asked him to help me get it out and when he went down to help, he knelt down and pulled a ring box from his pocket, it was the most magical day!
Wedding style
The style was rustic, natural and farming as both the bride and grooms families have farms. We had blue and whites as the colour scheme. The date was 30th March 2023 so it was a spring wedding and the ceremony was at Church then the reception was at The OutBarn. To link to farming we had 3 tractors outside at the OutBarn and our favours were sheep shaped chocolates. I also arrived at church on a tractor!
Shopping experience
Amazing, it was such a lovely feeling trying all these beautiful dresses. It was a magical experience one that you wish you could do again. You honestly felt like a princess.
How did you choose 'The One'?
We tried a lot of different dresses but when its the one you just kind of know when you put it on. You have that feeling that you dont want to take it off and could see yourself as a bride in it.
Tell us about your experience at Emma Louise Bridal
I had such a lovely experience the staff were all so welcoming. The drink choice was such a nice touch and I really liked that they did a questionnaire before hand so they already had an idea of what you were looking for and what your budget was so that you didnt try anything over that so you werent disappointed.
What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?
Arriving to church in the tractor was a fantastic memory as not many people were expecting it. Loved driving up to the reception in my husbands mini as it gave us time together to have a minute as you dont get much time together on your day. Also love the sparklers we did in the evening it made beautiful photos. The best memory is just that we got to spend our special day with all our family and friends it was just magical.
If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?
We went on a 2 week Mediterranean cruise
Do you have any advise for other couples planning their wedding?
Dont stress yourself out, enjoy the planning stage because at the end of the day people dont know what should have happened on the day. Also if youre making a lot of the decorations etc yourselves aim to have it all done the week before the wedding so you have the week leading upto the wedding to relax and enjoy the lead up.
