Real Bride Melissa – a Disney themed wedding day!
My proposal story

Shaun booked us a surprise trip for my birthday to Disneyland Paris in November 2018. I had no idea where we were going until we got to the departure gate and some kids ran past with Mickey Mouse ears on, it was then I realised! We stayed for 5 nights, and on the last night we watched the Disney illuminations with fireworks, after it had finished he proposed to me on the park near the castle.

Wedding style

Our beautiful wedding was at Beeston Manor on 19th September 2021, we opted for a slight Disney theme such as the place cards and the table plan. Me and my Mum made the displays for each table, we stuck to white, pink and blue florals. The bridesmaids were a beautiful sky blue, and the groomsmen in blue suits. We had Disney music throughout our wedding breakfast to make it feel like you were in Disneyland itself and how magical it is. Our first dance was beauty and the beast, we decided on a 3 tier wedding cake with simple blue marble design and blue flowers to match.

Shopping experience

I chose Emma Louise Bridal from looking online and reading good reviews, and also with it not being too far away from Leyland. On my first appointment I was adamant what I wanted, and I tried this design on first, I was so shocked when I didn’t like it. I tried a few more on and started to panic slightly as I just couldn’t find the one. My lovely stylist offered to pick one out for me, and when I first saw it I wasn’t completely convinced but then as soon as I put it on I knew it was the one! I felt like it had the fairytale feel but with an elegant touch.

How did you choose 'The One'?

As soon as I tried the dress on, it fitted in all the right places and I felt really comfortable in it straight away, it was completely different to what I thought I’d choose but as soon as I put it on I knew it was the right dress for me.

Tell us about your experience at Emma Louise Bridal

From my first appointment all the staff were friendly, professional and safe as at the time there were covid restrictions. Not one member of the staff was pushy about the dresses, they simply let you try on what you wanted and there was no pressure to pick one straight away.

What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?

Walking down the aisle was a big memory for me, the song playing was from our time at the Disney illuminations so a lot of emotions came flooding back. We had a saxophonist for the evening reception along with a DJ and they both made the night really special, also with a grey start to the day we were lucky to have a beautiful sunset to end it.

If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?

We went back to Disneyland Paris late November this year, it was lovely to go back to the place where we got engaged as a married couple, the atmosphere was still as magical even with the covid restrictions.
