Real Bride Amber – a simple and classic wedding

My proposal story

We were in Prague for my birthday weekend. It was our first full day and we had spent the morning walking around the city. We arrived at Charles Bridge where the are loads of love locks so I excitedly said to Sean that we will need to add our own lock to the bridge. This made Sean decide now was the moment! He asked a passerby to take our photo and whilst our picture was being taken he got down on one knee and popped the question! Thankfully the stranger Sean had asked to take the picture managed to get loads of amazing shots and even a video, so the proposal was captured perfectly!

Wedding style

The theme was very minimal, simple and classic. Bridesmaids dresses, flowers, table decor and the cake were all white for something a bit different but still very paired back. The groom and groomsmen were in black tuxedos for a smart, modern look.

Shopping experience

Different to the norm because I’m lucky enough to do it as my job! Although like the majority of brides the style I thought I’d go for turned out to not be right!

How did you choose 'The One'?

Originally I was thinking of choosing something a bit different, showy and maybe a bit of a statement. Definitely not a timeless style! But as much as I love ALL wedding dresses I am SUCH a minimalist haha, and so the plain dresses absolutely stole my heart! The simple gowns also went perfectly with the wedding theme. Emma chose my dress from the latest Rebecca Ingram collection before they had even started arriving in store, like a pro she knew it would be ‘The One’ for me! I said Yes to Cindy by Rebecca Ingram, I absolutely adored it.

Tell us about your experience at Emma Louise Bridal

Even though I’m biased it was honestly amazing! All of the girls went above and beyond to make sure I felt really special. They also supported me throughout the rollercoaster of postponing not once but twice thanks to COVID! The whole thing was made even more unique because I got to share the journey with all of our brides, it was so much fun to plan my wedding along with all the other brides to be that come through our doors!

What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?

There are so many to choose from but to name a few – getting ready with my mum and bridesmaids in the morning. Showing my dad and step mum my dress for the first time and my dad walking me down the aisle. Me and Sean saying our vows was such an incredible moment and looking around the room during our wedding meal and speeches realising how lucky we are to have all our closest family and friends there to celebrate with us.

If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?

We were meant to be going to Sorrento but COVID had other ideas! Instead we went camping in the Lake District for a couple of nights with the dog in the worlds smallest tent! We will hopefully rebook a proper honeymoon later this year.
