My proposal story

On a family holiday to Orlando, Florida, I was surprised with my own wand and Hogwarts letter whilst in Harry Potter world. After reading the letter (through extremely teary eyes), Lee was on one knee with a golden snitch box containing the most perfect ring. The wizards held their wands up in celebration as our family were led through Diagon Alley. A magical proposal if there ever was one!

Wedding style

We were married on 26.10.19 at Tatton’s Stock Farm in Cheshire.
The theme was autumnal magic with HUNDREDS of candles, lots of greenery and pops of burgundy, blush and gold. We paid hommage to the engagement with a Harry Potter themed table plan, Elderwand gin favours and mini golden snitch Ferrero Rochès.

Shopping experience

Amber at Emma Louise Bridal made the shopping experience incredibly easy and memorable. I was so lucky to chance upon ELB for my first ever wedding dress experience. I went to other shops to try and make the most of the one time I would get to shop for a wedding dress but I knew from the beginning that I would be going back to Emma Louise for ‘Rose’.

How did you choose 'The One'?

After choosing a range of style to try on and spending an hour finding out what I loved and didn’t love, Amber brought a dress through which she felt embodied all of the qualities I had loved. As soon as I put the dress on I knew it was the one. Feeling very emotional, I stepped out to show my friends and family who also knew instantly that the dress was made for me.

Tell us about your experience at Emma Louise Bridal

The whole experience was dreamy in every way. I feel incredibly fortunate to have such lovely memories of my wedding dress experience. It is a moment you dream about throughout growing up and Emma Louise Bridal certainly did not disappoint. If anything they exceeded my expectations and found me ‘The One’ which I may have never seen without them to guide me.

What are your favourite memories from your wedding day?

1. Walking down the aisle towards Lee.
2. The moment we were married with everybody we love to witness.
3. The best speeches from the very best people.
4. Being spun around under gold confetti canons during the first dance.
5. EVERYTHING

If you have a honeymoon planned - where are you going?

We were booked to go North America to do some travelling in August 2020 but the universe had other plans for us. We are expecting our first child in August instead which we think is even better than a honeymoon!

Do you have any advise for other couples planning their wedding?

Remember that other people don’t care about tiny little details. All your family and friends care about is that you are happy and in love ready to start married life. Enjoy the planning, you only do it once. Try on ALL the dresses, you will regret it if you don’t (even if you go back to the first dress you ever tried on by the end). Remember whose wedding it is; your family and friends will understand tough choices if they truly care about you. Don’t feel like you have to spend a fortune to impress anybody; choose your top 5 priorities and spend the budget making them amazing… you can’t do everything (and not one person will notice everything).
Always remember the reason why you are getting married in the first place.
